ESP8266: The $5 Wifi Microcontroller

This course introduces you to the ESP8266 hardware & it’s capabilities, shows you how to install the Arduino IDE, how to upload programs to the ESP8266, and will lead you through a simple web server programming project. This class will:
- Introduce you to the ESP & peripheral interfaces
- Install the Arduino Integrated Development Environments (IDE)
- Lead you in uploading to the ESP
- Lead you in writing a web server program, then uploading it to the ESP via the IDE
- Assist you in building your own (loT) project
Students must bring a Windows, Mac, or Linux laptop computer & be prepared to download the appropriate software for the class. Basic computer skills required.
Students can bring an ESP setup or can buy materials at the time of class for $10.00.
