What exists in the area between the second and third dimensions? Prepare to see things a little differently as Idea Fab Labs presents “THE VANISHING POINT”, a new gallery of perceptual experiments created by founder Erin Banwell.

Inspired heavily by technical drawing and orthographic projection, this new collection playfully explores the science and illusion of depth. Manipulating 3D models and leveraging 2D design techniques, he has discovered new methods of translating objects’ visual representation to fabricate them as divergent and tangible expressions. Utilizing IFL’s CNC router, laser cutter, and 3D printer while integrating LED lighting with custom-programmed Arduino controllers, Erin has created some of his largest and most ambitious pieces to date.
